Jawa is a brand of Czech road motorcycles, the main production facilities of which are located in Prague. The first Jawa bike was released by Wanderer in 1929.

This model was complex and expensive, at first it was not particularly successful. Widespread popularity was brought to the brand by a new lightweight motorcycle with a compact two-stroke power unit, the production of which began in 1931.

Since 1934, the company has been launching the production of 4-stroke Jawa engines with a 350 cc engine, and then 2-stroke ones with a cylinder volume of 250 cm3. Consumers also liked the Jawa-Robot, which went into production in 1937.

During the WW2, the plant switched to the production of military equipment, while continuing to develop new models of motorcycles, the production of which resumed in the spring of 1945.

Already in 1946, at the exhibition in Paris, the new Jawa 250 won gold. The bike was characterized by a mild stroke and received the nickname Spring.

Since 1953, a new family of Czech motorbikes began to be equipped with more modern engines and a pendulum suspension. They confidently took first places in motocross and speedway, as well as six-day races of Enduro.

1970 marked the beginning of the production of a new series of motorbikes Jawa 250-623 and Jawa 350-633. They were distinguished by their original design, spinal frame and separate engine lubrication system. A duplex enclosed frame and an updated motor began to be installed in Jawa 350-634 in 1973.

By the 80s, the total number of Jawa bikes released had reached 3 million units. Nowadays, the Czech concern is developing and producing new models of motor vehicles, including special versions on orders from other countries.

Now motorcycles and mopeds of the Jawa brand are widely distributed in different parts of the world due to their qualities and practicality.
